The car isn't painted yet, but the engine sure is pretty in red.
I still need to change out the valve covers and relocate the coil packs, but its starting to come together.

Another angle.

Perty! Coincidentally, I was just figuring out when to rent an engine hoist to pull the engine of my car for my winter project.

Those are some damn pretty headers. What is this going into/came out of?

I'm sorry, but who are you and why haven't I seen your posts before?! That red little pretty engine you have there wouldn't happen to be going into the car in your profile pic perhaps???

"Hey sweetie, I really like your manifolds. Your bungs are nice, too"

It certainly would. 1969 Charger. I've posted progress pics, but work on the car is so scarce, it stretches out over long periods of time.

It's going into that jet ski in the background!

69' Charger in its current state. The car gets color next.

Gaaaaaaah, awesome! FUCKING AWESOME!!!
Just a tip; tag your project updates with something to make it easier for us mere mortals to follow it.

I'm jealous. Wish I had a project car to work on over the winter. As a fellow Mopar guy, I'm hoping to acquire a '69 dart and toss in a 6.4L crate, in the not too distant future. Our first kid due in May, will probably change how that unfolds though.
Good luck and let's see more progress as it comes along, time permitting of course.

Good call. Done.

That's the most beautiful thing ever.

Sweet!
What's left on the to-do ?

Excellent. I hope you get it. Progress has been stalled on this one for a while because my wife had triplets 8 months ago, so I know how that goes. Congrats on the kid too.

Oh, just a few things:
Paint, find missing trim, repair trim, buy rear axle, buy brakes, buy steering components, install suspension, buy wheels and tires, rewire entire car, and install new interior and half a dozen minor items.
Its actually a relatively short list left.

My 3 year old twins are the reason Daddy hasn't built his FFR Cobra yet.
At least that's what I tell them..

Nice. Is that the 5.7 or 6.4? I recently spent a week reviewing a Challenger SRT8, and that motor was just amazing.

Its a 6.1 with a little reworking on the inside. Larger cam and upgraded valve springs. With some ECU tuning its supposed to get around 500hp at the flywheel.

And you're stuffing it into one of my fav Mopars of all time. (the best year too, imho)
Bravo.

Definitely want to keep checking in on this. Mr. Quarterlifecrisis (that'd be my dad) has had a 68 Hemi R/T since 72...finally got the engine out of it last month for some freshening (you know...so it works and all).

Damn, but that is a beautiful piece of work!
